Peer Review Process and Paper Presentation

Introduction

A webquest is an inquiry-oriented lessons.  This webquest is prepared for understanding the peer review process and to help you to improve your own paper while reviewing others researchers papers.

The Task

To develop skills for your preparing a research paper you need to develop a thorough understanding of the different possibilities open to you as you present your paper. One way for you to get there is to critically analyze a number of papers and discuss them from multiple perspectives. That's your task in this exercise.

By the end of this lesson, you and your group will answer some questions presented in worksheets below. Each of you will have a specific role in the peer review committee. You will have a good understanding on how to write a successful research paper.

Resources

You and your team will receive 3 or More proposals. You will analyze them using several resources such as

The Process- First Part

Proposal 1.

Proposal 2. 

Proposal 3.   

Proposal 4. 

Proposal 5. 

Proposal 6

We will create four new teams.

1) Team of stylists

proposal 5, proposal 2,  proposal 3, proposal 4

2) Team of literature reviewers

proposal 1, and proposal 3, proposal 5, proposal 6

3) Designers

Proposal 1, proposal 2 and proposal 4

 

 

THE PROCESS SECOND PART

Now we will mix up the groups and create a peer committee for each paper.

When debriefing time is called, use the corresponding file to speak from as you report your results to the whole class via Blackboard's discussion board. You may use the document camera to point out your comments on text.

Conclusion

Ideally, this exercise will provide you with a larger pool of ideas to work with on your final project. The best research paper is yet to be written. It might be yours!
